Step Inside
The county, once famous for the hospitality of its people, is recovering from the marks left by the impact of the fall of the Hoxha dictatorship.
It was the centre of military weapon industry, steel and chemical factories. Before that period, the county was known for the production of tobacco and alcoholic beverages.
But overall, it was the trading route since Roman times through the Via Egnatia.
